Viewers of BBC2’s “The Fifteen Billion Pound Railway” concerning London’s Crossrail may have noticed the roof picture on the right. The globe sits atop The London Metropolitan Universities premises located in Moorgate, directly opposite one of the Crossrail sites and adjacent to the road closure detailed in the programme.
M D Enertech Ltd in conjunction with Kier, recently completed a major refurbishment of several floors of the premises, providing a full M&E design and build package to classrooms and lecture theatres. Unlike Crossrail, we were not afforded the luxury of a road closure to lift roof equipment but solved the problem by breaking down plant into individual components and utilising a lifting specialist to transport to the roof, all carried out safely and successfully.
